Meet Harper, the creator of Modern Homemaking. This space was born from a simple wish: to find calm and purpose in the rhythm of everyday life.
Modern Homemaking began as a personal shift — a quiet realisation, formed somewhere between the chaos of the week and the comfort of a tidy kitchen. It grew from a wish to create nourishment and meaning in the everyday moments that often go unnoticed.
My Story
For a long time, I felt like I was chasing life. Working, running a home, raising my little one, and moving through endless lists without ever feeling fully present.
I thought the answer was to do everything faster. I rushed through the washing, powered through the mental checklists, and treated homemaking as something to get through rather than something to live within.
Eventually, something shifted.
I realised the pace was not the problem — my perspective was. Once I slowed down, planned ahead, and found satisfaction in the preparation, everyday life began to feel steadier. Sunday mornings became gentle reset days. Small routines brought calm where there had once been chaos.
That was when I began to see homemaking differently — not as outdated or purely domestic, but as a quiet, creative way to care for both home and self.
With a few simple ingredients, thoughtful systems, and small daily rituals, ordinary life began to feel lighter, calmer, and more meaningful.
This space is not about perfection or doing more.
It is about finding beauty and meaning in the everyday.
